Ways to Give

Help us make sailing accessible to anyone who has an interest in learning the sport regardless of physical ability, financial means, or age.

The Milwaukee Community Sailing Center has been providing access to sailing to Milwaukee residents and guests since 1979. Our innovative STEMward program is providing an interactive approach to learning about math and the sciences in area middle schools through the integration of the subjects as they relate to the science behind sailing. In 2022, our Friday Sails allowed over 500 individuals with special needs to feel the mobility of sailing. MCSC is also committed to offering as many scholarship opportunities as possible to people - kids, adults, and families - who might find it otherwise financially difficult.

We rely on the generous support of community partners and individuals to meet our annual budget. Just over 20 percent of the MCSC Operating Budget is supported through financial gifts. Your gift ensures that we will continue to provide thousands of people educational opportunities to explore our most beautiful asset, Lake Michigan, while experiencing the exhilaration of harnessing the power of nature and gliding across the Bay or out into the vastness beyond the breakwall. The leadership and team building skills acquired on the water are life skills that last a lifetime and can transform a person of any age, measure of wealth or physical attribute.

MCSC is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit and can benefit from any donations that come our way. Our EIN, or Federal Tax ID, is 39-1284450. We are listed on Charity Navigator and GuideStar. You can also review our Donor Bill of Rights and our Gift Acceptance Policy.

Does your company support matching gifts? Excellent! We can receive matching gifts through the various ways companies distribute them, including GroundSwell, Blackbaud Giving Fund, Cybergrants, and so many more.

Other Ways of Giving

iGive is a rebate program where iGive members have the opportunity to donate their rebate to their chosen cause. Amazon has stopped their Amazon Smile program, so if you would like to continue to support MCSC as you shop, iGive is the way! Donations in Kind

We provide access to sailing. That focus becomes easier when we have quality equipment to offer our members, guests and program participants. If you are looking to upsize your vessel or simply looking to enjoy the leisure of sailing without the cost and time commitment of boat ownership, please consider donating your boat to us. Please contact our office at [email protected] or 414-277-9094 to review the types of boats we need to enhance our programs and our boat acceptance policy. If we cannot use your boat in our fleet, MCSC also benefits from donations via CARS program. You can donate your car, boat, jet ski, or snow machine.

Beneficiary Designation

Name Milwaukee Community Sailing Center as the beneficiary on your insurance, IRA, 401(k)/403(b) and other beneficiary designated holdings. Please let us know so we can include you in our Legacy Society.
