Peter Rieck
Peter has been Executive Director of the Milwaukee Community Sailing Center since 1987 and has worked for the organization since 1985. Peter has been involved in sailing since the earliest reaches of childhood, starting his sailing in a homemade pram at the age of five off the coast of Bar Harbor, Maine. Peter has been working in the sailing industry for over 20 years and brings an extensive boating background and expertise to the operation of the Sailing Center. Peter has been instrumental in seeing the Sailing Center more than double its course offerings, total membership and fleet in his 21-year tenure as Executive Director of MCSC.
In the last decade the Milwaukee Community Sailing Center has been recognized as a national leader through innovative programming and staffing under Peter's direction. During the same period, the Sailing Center has eliminated its long-term debt and has greatly expanded its outreach programs and community events. The Milwaukee Community Sailing Center is viewed as a model community boating organization throughout the country. Many other community boating organizations use the Sailing Center as their model and the Sailing Center has received recognition from US Sailing as one of the best community boating organization in the US.
